Tretherras became a Specialist Technology College in 1997 and holds a variety of Awards including Sportsmark, Investors In People, Investor in Careers and Investors in Work Related and Enterprise Learning.

We are proud to provide very high quality comprehensive education for over 1610 students aged 11 to 18 [including 245 in the Sixth Form] from Newquay and the surrounding area. The School is very popular, and is oversubscribed in all year groups. Feedback from our parents and primary school partners tells us that the School has a warm welcoming ethos, extremely high standards and a wide range of extra curricular activities. The staff work very effectively as a team and the atmosphere at Tretherras is characterized by positive relationships between everyone. The students are a delight to teach and enjoy being part of a successful school. They are all valued individually: they know they are central to our work and their all round achievements are celebrated. We strongly encourage them all to 'engage and participate'.
